Lavender Lemonade with Homemade Lavender Syrup
This refreshingly delicious Lavender Lemonade with Homemade Lavender Syrup is a perfect beverage for those hot Summer days. The herbal and floral notes that dried lavender imparts to the sweetness of classic lemonade are unique and the perfect blend!
Equipment
- 1 small sauce pan
- 1 large pitcher
- Glasses for serving
Ingredients
Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1 cup of white granulated sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of dried Lavender flowers
Lavender Lemonade
- 4 large ripe lemons freshly squeezed or 1 cup
- 4 cups water cold
- 1 1/4 cups Lavender simple syrup
- Ice
- Fresh Lavender for garnish
- Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
Lavender simple syrup
- Using a small saucepan, add 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and the dried Lavender flowers.
- Bring the mixture to a slow simmer. Simmer for about 1-2 minutes until all the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Turn the heat off and allow the syrup to steep for 15 minutes.
- Once the syrup has steeped, drain through a fine mesh strainer to remove the Lavender flowers. Now the syrup is ready to use in the lemonade.
Lavender Lemonade
- Using a two-quart pitcher, add freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, and the Lavender simple syrup. Stir well and adjust to taste.
- Using tall glasses, add ice, and fill with the Lavender Lemonade.
- Garnish with sprigs of fresh Lavender and lemon slices.
Notes
Homemade Lavender simple syrup will last up to 1 month in the refrigerator.
