How to freeze leftover canned goods

Recently I posted a recipe for Roasted Brussels sprouts with Red Chimichurri that included canned Chipotle chiles. I only needed one for the recipe, and wanted to save the remainder. Just a small kitchen tip, I froze the remainder in a silicon ice tray. I do this often with tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste and now chiles.

The silicon trays I use are for large ice cubes. They hold about 1/2 cup of liquid so they are a perfect size.

I cover the trays with foil and freeze them. Once frozen, I remove them from the tray and place them in a ziplock bag and have these on hand when I need them. This is a great way to use excess tomato products and works great for chipotles. The trays I use are shown below on Amazon.
